Night School for young married women featured in Time of India
Our Night School for young married women, supported by American Jewish World Service (AJWS), goes beyond traditional literacy and numeracy. Here, women learn about reproductive health and sexual health and, above all, understand their rights over their own bodies. We believe that women are born leaders; they just have to recognise their own skills. At the Women’s Night School for young married women, they closely understand the democratic process of elections. A president and vice president are elected, who then take up major responsibilities, representing the school and other women at the panchayat and state levels.

Once unable to read bus destinations or navigate the world confidently, Sarju is now running a small shop, supporting her family, and even maintaining accounts independently. The confidence and determination on her face were truly life-changing for me. Her journey is a testament to the power of education and community-driven initiatives. This story needed to be told, and Manthan Kotri is humbled to be a part of this journey, with the hope of inspiring more people, thanks Rajasthan Patrika for considering the story.
Manthan Samta Night School featured in The Hindu
Manthan Samta Night School where over 40 women in one school and over 50 more in another school are getting education was recently featured in national newspaper The Hindu. This school employs a practical, hands-on approach to learning. Local professionals, such as police officers, bank managers, and the village sarpanch, are invited to share their expertise and provide insights into how various systems function within the community’s ecosystem.
