The Creche Programme is run with the help of Barefoot College for children whose parents especially mothers are working because of unstable economic conditions. The belief is that young children need to have a safe and engaging learning environment while their mothers work. Balsevikas (Child helpers) are appointed from the village who are responsible for the hygiene, educational, nutritional and social needs of the children. Special activities and nutritious diets are a part of the creche programmes.
Since 1983, Barefoot College and Manthan have run 25 creches in the area. Currently Manthan manages, 8 creches with around 220 children benefiting around 150 families.
