Focus Communities

Structural inequalities and societal exclusions in India deeply impact existing levels of poverty and hinder the achievement of development goals. They define the ways we use, share and govern our resources, and formulate and implement our policies. Manthan focuses its work on the environmental, social, economical and political realities of excluded communities such as women and adolescent girls, nomadic tribes, children, backward castes, youth and small farmers who are often excluded from mainstream development initiatives. Our programmes are designed to include these excluded and marginalised communities in the area in order to bridge the large societal divide.
