Bridge courses are designed for children who have not been able to go to school for various reasons. In such situations, after several years if and when these children do get an opportunity to study, they face many challenges. This makes them hesitant to join the mainstream school. In order to help these children, especially girls, a bridge course of six months is conducted in which they catch-up with the required academics and prepare for the primary level exams.
During the six months, the children stay at the residential school where basic academic training is given along with other vocational training skills like stitching, embroidery, candle making, assembling and repairing of solar lanterns and carpentry. Manthan has conducted 2 Bridges courses for around 70 children from 20 villages.
